Spring Cleaning Makeup Brushes

I know the importance of cleaning your makeup brushes...
1.) Personal health/hygenie
2.) Protecting your invesment ... because let's face it MAC brushes are an investment.  Thank goodness Sigma brushes came along so it is not quite as painful spending money on quality makeup brushes.

That being said cleaning makeup brushes can be a royal pain.  Plus I felt like I wasn't truly getting my brushes clean because they were still discolored from the makeup.  A couple weeks ago I started hearing about a product Sigma was coming out with a product to clean makeup brushes.  I was intrigued because my current method was not cutting it.  Enter the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove.

I can't lie, I was intially a little put off by the $39 price tag, but also had to remind myself of the money I have spent on these brushes and how much more I would end up spending if I did not take care of them.  It arrived yesterday so I had to put it to the test.  Sigma also included an eyeliner brush with my package which was a nice surprise.

Here are my brushes before - they were overdue for a cleaning.

The glove has two sides, one to use for face brushes and one to use for eye brushes.  Each side has grooves which are clearly marked - wash - rinse - refine.  Cleaning brushes with the glove is a three step process.  I found it most comfortable to wear the glove on my nondominant hand, in my case my right hand.  So I can vouch it is comfortable for us southpaws ;) I used the glove with baby shampoo to clean my brushes.

I could immeadiately tell that this product was well worth the investment, all of my brushes were coming out squeaky clean.  Look at this foundation brush...

Before vs. After

I personally think it is a worthwhile investment, especially for someone like me who could not seem to get my brushes clean enough to my liking the old fashion way.

*I purchased the Sigma Spa Brush Cleaning Glove personally.
